Funny, scary and a rather young adult is how I would describe this one. The book is fast and Sam keeps the pace relentless. But beware you logical fiction reader. There is no real explanation of the purge nor is there a scientific explanation of the behaviours. Things just happen randomly and while the Ghouls are smart in some ways they simply choose not to be smart in the others eg. If they can drive a car through a building why can't they drive around everywhere with tinted windows? That aside if you want to read an end of the world book on the flight than this is worth the investment.
