When Leah's former boss and mentor, Judy, dies in an accident and leaves Leah her red sports car, Leah takes off to San Francisco to claim the car, revisiting past lives and loves in a self she abandoned years ago.

I recently attended the author's reading from this book and was entertained–in part by the words and in part by her delivery. Then I was intrigued when she mentioned that she was influenced by Murakami's work (and he is mentioned in the book). I can definitely see the influence of Murakami, but the voice, I think, is the author's own, and the voice is what makes this quirky story work.
