I loved this book. I feel like biblical fiction really gives me pause and makes me contemplate the stories in the Bible in different ways.
I'm such a moron, but all I could think of through the first half of this book is: These ladies are so on Team Jacob.
This was really a great read though. Recommended.
This is the oldest book on my shelves. 7 years it's been sitting there - and I finally picked it up. I really enjoyed the first half - loved learning about Leah, Rachel, Zilpah and Bilhah and Dinah's childhood. I didn't really care for the end of the novel set in Egypt, but I'll always champion a feminist retelling, and love how Diamant gave Dinah a voice.
So many of my friends loved this book, but I couldn't get into it. Maybe I should try again.
