An incredible portrait of a young man whose life and perseverance is a miracle in the face of absolute monstrosity. Sanford Clark, given to his sadistic, psychopathic uncle as a “help meet”, becomes a sexual plaything and party to the torture and murder of countless helpless young boys like himself. His story, fleshed out by the author with the help of Sanford's eldest son, is one of abject terror and horror, both at his uncle and at himself, as well as being a quite moving portrait of a man who struggles against his victimhood and guilt for his entire life.
