I liked the story and I felt a little off balance, like I was never sure what would happen at the end (which I like about YA books because I can usually guess). I never felt totally connected to the boy characters and I really did not like Maxie so it's hard to recommend this for girls. I can't say what I was really hoping for when I picked this up but I don't think I got it. I did end up learning a lot about the Panthers.
