The rose of Sebastopol

In 1855, Rosa Barr, a young Englishwoman, travels to the Crimea determined to work as a nurse. She never returns. Three people have been intimately connected with her: her cousin, a soldier and adventurer; a doctor, traumatised by the war and harbouring a secret passion; and her cousin Mariella, who is left to discover the truth.
