The Savage

I am SO conflicted about this one!!

On one hand, Sophie Lark is Queen and I adore her and everything she writes, but on the other this was just way too long and disconnected from the other Kingmakers books.

I know the series originally ended with The Spy but this was written as an add-on and I think you can tell - it doesn't take place at the school and there are very few interactions with previous characters so lacks the natural continuation of a series.

I really feel like this should be part of her Underworld series, with about 200 pages shaved off, it just doesn't fit at the end of Kingmakers. That said I still enjoyed it but definitely not my favourite Lark book.
