A fairly standard but still engaging and interesting Great Course on how much science and science-fiction draws on each other. It had probably more Star Trek references than other movie or TV show franchises though, and while I'm not familiar with the Star Trek universe, it does give me some appreciation as to how theoretical physics can also make engaging sci-fi plots.
This was an interesting listen. The author goes through many different television shows and movies to prove or disprove the science behind the technology in the shows. I learned a few things and this is probably one I will listen to again because its so much info packed into 4 hours.
3.5*. A fun book on the astrophysics in popular science fiction movies and shows. A bit too pop-culture for my likings, but nicely explained. I'd like to see a similar book on hard sci-fi books.
