It was only supposed to be a one-night stand…
Over the past year, my life has fallen apart. First, my father died. Then I broke up with my boyfriend. My mother and sister have been a constant thorn in my side. And now it looks as if I’m going to have to close my bar.
The last thing I need is to complicate matters by falling for a man. Especially one like Jacob Prince. Okay, he’s gorgeous, we have lots in common, and he’s a great combination of hot, gentle, and kind. But he also has a baby on the way with his ex, and I don’t need that kind of hassle in my life. Anyway, he’s only in Queenstown for a couple of nights, so I decide to keep it simple. A one-night stand is the perfect solution.
The trouble is, when we end up snowed in, the one-night stand turns into two, then three. It’s a shame not to take advantage when we’re so good together, even though we both understand it can only last until the snow melts.
But as my life continues to crumble, Jacob’s the one thing I can cling to that brings me any joy. I need to move on, but how do I do that when he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me?

"The Secret Billionaire," while predictable, successfully captured my attention, especially as it's the first book I've read in many years. It follows the classic trope of 'man meets woman, they fall in love, and everything works out perfectly,' but it does so engagingly. The story is raunchy in places, and I found myself 75% through the book wondering how the ending would unfold in the remaining pages. Despite its predictability, it kept me hooked until the end.
