Some of the beginning poems were beautiful in a visceral, human, but ethereal kind of way - but this seemed to fade into something distinctly earthly, distinctly contemporary, and distinctly Louise Gluck. While it was interesting peering into her mind during this period of her life, and while she has crafted these poems beautifully - only bits and pieces of poems resonated. I only really liked 2-3 of the whole collection. However, I've marked this as one to revisit later in life - I think I'm too young for the words to speak to me now.
