I turned off my brain. It was time to hunt. I took a deep breath, drawing in the scent of the blood inside the humans below. They weren't the only humans around, but they were the closest. Who you were going to hunt was the kind of decision you had to make before you scented your prey. It was too late now to choose anything.

Anyone who has read “Eclipse” of seen the movie, knows how Bree's story ends. But it was cool to see what happened to her before she met “the golden eyes”. I have to give it to Stephenie Meyer for getting down and dirty with the gore and violence of these normal newborns. There's a nice twist to the Volturi too...which we kind of knew already but still nice to have it validated through Bree. It was great to see the Cullens through Bree and her reaction to them. She could feel Jasper's moods. Her confusion about them and the human. Like Stephenie, I wished Bree's ending could have been different, but what done is done.
read this in secondary school, just going through and trying to update my gr lmao
