didn't like it as much as the first book but its still so addicting !
it felt repetitive at times because all they do is fight giants but it was still fun
Still love this series with every fiber of my heart. Can't wait to reread the rest of them ;-;
Percy is – as always – the saving grace of literally anything happening. Hazel and Frank were kind of fun but mostly mediocre ngl. Percy won (as always - again) though
Frank is the cutest and coolest person in all of the books, daaamn!
Also, Ella and Tyson?? Amazing!
Solid 4 out 5 starsPercy is back!Book 2 of The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan is extremely entertaining. It picks up a couple of months after the end of Book 1, except that we finally get to see what has happened to Percy during this exchange. The adventure starts with a bang as Percy is pursued by a couple of Gorgons, who apparently reform soon after they are destroyed. The only thing that he remembers, after being mind-swiped by Hera, is Annabeth. But he soon finds his way to the Roman camp, where he befriends Frank and Hazel. They must go on a quest together in order to save Camp Jupiter from Gaea's minions. This was another exciting installment in The Heroes of Olympus series, and I have already started reading Book 3, [b:The Mark of Athena 12127750 The Mark of Athena (The Heroes of Olympus, #3) Rick Riordan https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1369501752s/12127750.jpg 17115055]! Definitely recommend this one to Riordan fans of all ages.
Once again I was snared by the adventures of Percy Jackson. I know that the series is continuing on and it's sort of like a formula now, but I still like it.
Rick Riordan again tells a griping tale of demigods and mythology mixed with modern times. I find his writing, while predictable, to be engaging and the characters are well thought out. The new characters from Roman heritage are interesting, likable, and still seem very human, despite their powers. This is what makes Riordan so effective, his ability to take these severely overpowered characters and still make them flawed, vulnerable and likable.
I very much look forward to where the story goes from here, as the clash between Greek and Roman demigods is imminent. Highly readable.
girllll the way this book is soooo much better than the first. i actually enjoy the new characters and percy is there. my annotations were a lot more kind this book and i literally am opening up the next book as i write this.
Not quite as good as I was expecting, after the first book of the heroes of Olympus series not having Percy, and then this one just being about him regaining his memory back, seems a little repetitive. Just a reason to have another book. But, despite that, this is still great. But I'm really excited for the plot to get going in Mark of Athena.
While it's hard to have gotten invested in the new characters in the first book and to then switch back to a different set, I loved the storyline of this book.
Age range: 10+
Younger readers may find it a little scary.
i feel like a traitor for saying this,, but i liked the lost hero better,
like hazel, frank, and percy are amazing and i love their dynamic
but this literally almost put me in a slump for the second time
so i have to give it a 4/5
still an amazing storyline
excited to read the rest and finally finish this series !
prefiro o primeiro. não gosto do modo que os personagens foram introduzidos e o Percy .... não sei. A última luta é bem emocionante e os plots são legais. Fora isso não achei muito emocionante.
Short Review: The parallel book to The Lost Hero. These two books are set ups for the new series Heros of Olympus. It is hard to discuss the book without spoilers, because so much references others books. So I will simply say, if you like the Percy Jackson books, you should go ahead and read this series as well. Click through for a slightly longer review with some marked spoilers about previous books

Finally finished this book! I had a baby last year and my recreational reading went out the window. I'm now determined to finish all books I started and abandoned last spring.
Favorite bit: Amazon.com is run by Amazons.
Still loving this series! What's even better than bringing Greek and Roman mythology together? Bringing it together and having a quest to Alaska! I love when books mention my state and places I've been.
The writing just flows so well with these books that before you know it, you're done. I adore the romances and friendships being made and I absolutely LOVE the corny humor. I laugh so much when reading these.
