This book offers a more detailed backstory for characters we've already met in the Gods of the Ragnarok Era books, namely Audr and Grimhild. Though the story takes place in another age, long before the events of GoRE, the world - and some of the characters - will feel familiar.
I appreciate the way Matt Larkin brings this dark and fascinating world with all its complex characters to life, the lines between hero and villain anything but clear.
