The Stranger appears out of nowhere, perhaps in a bar, or a parking lot, or at the grocery store. His identity is unknown. His motives are unclear. His information is undeniable. Then he whispers a few words in your ear and disappears, leaving you picking up the pieces of your shattered world. Adam Price has a lot to lose: a comfortable marriage to a beautiful woman, two wonderful sons, and all the trappings of the American Dream: a big house, a good job, a seemingly perfect life. Then he runs into the Stranger. When he learns a devastating secret about his wife, Corrine, he confronts her, and the mirage of perfection disappears as if it never existed at all. Soon Adam finds himself tangled in something far darker than even Corrine's deception, and realizes that if he doesn't make exactly the right moves, the conspiracy he's stumbled into will not only ruin lives - it will end them...

Listened as an audio book. Felt like A LOT of exposition and didn't pick up for quite a while. Then once it got going it slowed down again. Not my favorite.
I thought this was pretty good - better than I expected actually. I can’t decide if I think the end was bad because it was just explained out of left field…
Adam Price is happy with his life, he's married with 2 great sons and a good job. What could go wrong? Who could spoil that?
One day a stranger comes up to him in a car park and tells him his wife lied about being pregnant (not a spoiler, it's on page 3). Adam naturally confronts his wife and her reaction is not what he was expecting so he starts to dig into this lie and let's just say this is the epitome of something snowballing. This is set in a small town where everyone knows everyone and everything so there's plenty of lying and scheming going on, it's twisty enough to keep you on your toes. It also really makes you think about what is visible on the internet and how easy it is for someone to find out anything about you online.
I think this is the third Coben book I've read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's fast, compelling and so easy to read, you just do not want to put it down. An excellent quick mystery read!
