For The Shadowmen still swarmed over the Four Lands, poisoning all with their dark magic. Each Shannaran had a special death waiting for him- at the hands of The Shadowmen-unless Par could find a way to free them all with the Sword of Shannara.

Overall a well-written conclusion of the Heritage series. It nicely ties up the previous 3 books. The way the book started set a good pace throughout. I think the closure could've been better - particularly the part where the explanation on who the enemies really are - not very convincing.
