A "memoir from award-winning ... actress Kelly Bishop, spanning her six decades in show business from Broadway to Hollywood with A Chorus Line, Dirty Dancing, Gilmore Girls, and much more"--

I loved learning about Kelly Bishop's life. Like a lot of people, I was introduced to her through watching Gilmore Girls, but she had a very successful career (hello, Tony Award!) long before and since that show. She seems to have such a good head on her shoulders, and is a really inspiring example of someone who has been able to make it in the industry through a combination of determination, grit, talent, patience, and the good fortune of timing. I hope she returns to Broadway soon, because I'll be first in line to buy tickets.
I think, she is a absolutely inspiration for independent persons <3
I loved it and will probably listing again to it.
3.5 stars. Quick, delightful read. Bishop is a lot like Emily Gilmore (minus the snootiness and the D.A.R. stuff), and it's a hoot to hear from an outspoken broad who knew what she wanted (dancing) and what she didn't (children) from a young age. The fact that she had an abortion is getting a lot of media attention, but her struggle to keep performing after her beloved husband of 40 years died from cancer was the emotional heart of the book.
