The Tiger Rising

Kate DiCamillo could be my favorite or second-favorite children's book author. I love her deeply flawed yet lovable characters. Tiger Rising has two children, both with troubles, who against the odds become friends.

Lovely book, I remember this book fondly reading it as a kid in 4th grade. It was my favorite teacher, and I loved it. It was dark, hopeful, but it had a lot of symbolism that she kept us interested in.
