The tortoise and the hare

While this one has a few illustrated words within the pictures the story is told so well in picture with much excitement of the animal characters that it is easy for a child to get lost in their imagination on the pages. This is exactly what I want to provide my children with and similar to he kind of things I loved to pour over as a child.Thanks to LB Kids.

Nobody illustrates a story like Jerry Pinkney. Beautiful, life-like illustrations tell this old tale of the slow and steady tortoise that wins out in the long run over the quick but flighty hare. Pinkney cleverly weaves the story told in words almost seamlessly into the story told in pictures. Exceptional.
