This is a very solid survey of the history of Trinitarian theology. The lecturer, Father David Meconi, starts with the scriptural basis of Trinitarian thinking and then pursues the development of the idea through the Patristic period, the various Trinitarian heresies and the responses to those heresies, the Doctors of the Church, Trinitarianism in Orthodoxy and Protestantism, and, eventually, to the 20th century, with theologians like Hans Urs Von Balthazar, Karl Barth and their Orthodox equivalents.

Father Meconi presents his discussion in a thorough and engaging way. I wasn't bored by his lecture style in the slightest. This package represents 12 lectures that are each approximately 25 minutes long. I have been impressed by the quality of the two “Now You Know” lecture series I have listened to.

I've called this a survey, but Father Meconi does a number of fairly deep dives into the material. For example, Father Meconi's explanation of Orthodox Trinitarian theology, including the theology of Saint Gregory Palamis, filled in a lot of blanks for me. Likewise, although I've been reading Communio for nearly two decades, Father Meconi actually introduced me to Von Balthazar. I also got a better appreciation for why so many articles in Communio are about nuptial theology.

If you want to learn about orthodox Trinitarian theology, this is a good place to start.
