Interesting story. I liked it so much, I started the next book immediately after finishing this one

Some... details that don't sound true, but easy enough to ignore.

I don't think ANYONE is that ignorant about slavery and black people's circumstances in USA in the 19th century.

The mystery was pretty easy to guess, and that made it quite irritating when Mary Ellen Taylor was trying to build tension by giving hints little by little.
