Perhaps it was Andrea Parsneau's performance from the audio version that really sold me on the story. I was surprised by the Wandering Inn, had no idea what to expect when I first started. What I was greated with was a slice of life novel as a young woman attempts to coop and adjust to life in a new world. She deals with being the only human in the area she finds herself and ultimately having to kill in self defense. The characters all grow over time and each one stands out on their own. This book had me laughing and happy at parts, and crying and sad at others. If I didn't have a family or children I doubt I would have put the book down at all.
Andrea's narration however, is really what pulled me in. Her range of voices is crazy and each character had their own, even down to the different Gnolls, Drakes and other races Erin encounters in her new life.
Honestly incredible and I'm so excited to continue this series. It's so raw and special to read with no thoughts going into The Wandering Inn.
I have absolutely adored this book. The writing style is very approachable and it never ever gets boring. I can't wait to start volume 2! Also, the audiobook is a masterpiece!
Not for everyone, including me... I think. This series is intimidating to read but overall I had a relaxing and fun time reading various chapters in this volume. There is a variety of knowledge on other continents, kings and rulers, history, and culture that will pique your interest in reading the next volumes. Might try the audiobook format and see if it's worth continuing.

NOTES Easily my favorite series ever, everything about this series I love and hold dear to my heart. The world is the most expansive and immersive world I have ever been a part of. We get to slowly explore and learn about every single aspect of the world—from the towns to the continents, everything is teeming with love and detail. The characters, even one-off side characters, are each so well-developed and have their own unique ambitions and outlook on the world. The magic system, while you would expect it to be overdone and cliche, manages to be so much fun and, since the system is tailored to the individual character, allows for infinite possibilities. Most importantly, the emotional impact that this story has and how it manages to make me feel, even for the silliest things, is top top top tier. I don't have enough good things to say about this series. There is truly something for everyone here. The only negative (which is actually a positive for me) is that it is absolutely ginormous. There are ~11,970,740 words in this series and more than than LOTR, Harry Potter, and ASOIAF combined and counting. I took a break at Vol 8 to find time to read other series that were put on hold for too long. The series recently wrapped up Vol 9 and is working on Vol 10. If you are looking for a story to be immersed in, this is the one right here.
pirateaba recently revised many parts of Volume 1 so there is no better time than right now to start reading TWI!!!
Best book I've ever read
It make me laugh it make me cry it make me laugh and cry at the same time
The characters were just amazing it looks like a cozy and chill reading and it is that but it is so much more at the same time the characters grow, learn get better
I can't say much about the world cuz it is the classic fantasy world with different races and all and it have levelling and that kind of stuff if you like that go for it if you don't go for it anyway because the characters make it soooo worth it
What is it about? I won't say much but basically it's about two main character both different but with one common thing they aren't from this world they are from our world and they just appeared there and now they have to adapt they have to deal with the weirdness of this world both going on different paths but both looking for survival
