The White Stone

The White Stone

1880

Originally published in 1905, The White Stone was, in part, a rebuttal to the racist "yellow peril" fever of the time - a book about "white peril" and the rise of socialism. Anatole France won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1921 - a noted man of letters, he was a leading figure of French literary life.
