I got this book pretty late. Serves me right for not checking reviews first - sort of an impulse buy when I saw it. If you're planning of getting this book, try to find the smaller paperback instead ([b:The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time 242793 The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time Robert Jordan http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1173057895s/242793.jpg 180835]). Why? Because the only worth it about this book is the text - unless you like big books. The artwork, as mentioned in so many reviews, is simply very amateurish, to put it politely. The lore that you find in this book will definitely be of interest to any fan of the Wheel of Time series. But do bear in mind that the writings in this book assumes a timeline at about the first 6 or 7 books - so the stuff in the later books in the series hasn't happened yet.
This is basically like an encyclopaedia about the Wheel of Time. It's full of spoilers, so do not read it before finishing all 15 books. You have been warned. The content is actually quite interesting, but it's quite boring. I'd use this book more like a reference book, but I'm not sure when I would read it. If you check anything while reading the books, you are bound to find unwanted spoilers, and if you read it after finishing all the books (like I have), you may get bored (like I have).
