Book Review: This Could Be Us by Claire McGowan
A Story That Touched My Heart
“This Could Be Us” by Claire McGowan is a book that really got to me. It's about a woman named Kate who made a tough choice to leave her family behind and start over in a new place. The story shows how hard it was for her to deal with her kids and how it affected them later on in life.
Kate's struggles as a mom felt real to me. She had to deal with so much, and I could understand why she felt like she had to leave. But seeing how her decision hurt her kids broke my heart. Her daughter had to grow up with a disability, feeling abandoned by her mom. And her son was angry and confused, not knowing why his mom left.
But the book isn't all sad. It's also about forgiveness and hope. When Kate comes back, things are tense at first, but you can see the family trying to heal. It's not easy, but they're all trying their best.
I liked how the author wrote the story. It was easy to understand, and I felt like I could really connect with the characters. The book made me think about my own family and the things we've been through.
Overall, “This Could Be Us” is a touching story that made me feel a lot of emotions. If you like books that make you think and feel, you should definitely give it a read.
