A GLORIOUS EMPIRE. A DESPERATE QUEST. AN ANCIENT SECRET. The search for allies extends to a new land in the sixth book of the #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.
Chaol Westfall and Nesryn Faliq have arrived in the shining city of Antica to forge an alliance with the Khagan of the Southern Continent, whose vast armies are Erilea’s last hope. But they have also come to Antica for another purpose: to seek healing at the famed Torre Cesme for the wounds Chaol received in Rifthold.
After enduring unspeakable horrors as a child at the hands of Adarlanian soldiers, Yrene Towers has no desire to help the young lord from Adarlan, let alone heal him. Yet she has sworn an oath to assist those in need, and she will honor it. But Lord Westfall carries his own dark past, and Yrene soon realizes that those shadows could engulf them both.
Chaol, Nesryn, and Yrene will have to draw on every scrap of their resilience to overcome the danger that surrounds them. But while they become entangled in the political webs of the khaganate, long-awaited answers slumber deep in the mountains, where warriors soar on legendary ruks. Answers that might offer their world a chance at survival . . . or doom them all.
The final battle looms in this sixth book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series.

3.5 ⭐️
This book was definitely harder for me to get in to. Thankful I did the tandem read to keep me going. It got better in the middle and the end was shocking.
How much was I disapponted when I understood we will not see Aelin for a full book ??? ... I have no words for that.
This book was nice but I was seriously waiting only to know more about Aelin.
I don't care about Choal in general... the only highlight for me was Nesryn !!! She deserved everything that happened to her and she is actually the one bringing valuable information in this books about Maeve.
Choal story was so predictable ... anyway.
I like the south continent tradition with these scary siblings and all these schemes...
doesn't deserve more than 3,5 for me !
I really hope Kingdom of Ash will be enough to fill my expectations
My love for SJM grows with every book. I wasn't looking forward to reading this book..not because I'm over the series (I'm totally NOT)..but because the main character for this one is Chaol and not Aelin. And I don't really care for Chaol. That being said I wasn't going to skip a whole book in a series (Who does that??). I trust SJM so I dove in like I do with all her books since ACOTAR. I wasn't disappointed at all. Especially the second half where I had to put the book down several times to just OMG! WHAAAAAT! (out loud) while simultaneously texting my bff and sister (both of whom haven't read it yet) so I couldn't say anything really to spewing madness at my bf because I needed to tell someone what I just read. I'm not saying I love Chaol now. He still made me suck my teeth and roll my eyes several times. But SJM fleshed him out to where I can be in the same room with him LOL
Spoiler Alert??-
This books takes place at the same time as the previous where Aelin is doing what Aelin does and what happened here is so crucial to whatever madness is coming next that I'm glad to have had it fleshed out lest the next book be 5000 pages (which I'd be okay with).
