Summary: After the hideout for runaway Unwinds is destroyed, Lev and Connor go on a mission to learn the secrets surrounding the history of Proactive Citizenry from the one woman who might be able to give them answers—answers that have the potential to bring down the organization and stop unwinding. Meanwhile, Cam plots to bring down Proactive Citizenry, Risa tries to survive on her own, and Starkey gains power among the storks as he continues escalating his violent harvest camp liberations.
Yet another amazing instalment in The Unwind Dystology. I have said it before but I love the way the POVs are written, you get everyone side of the story and also sometimes a random bystanders thoughts on the matter. I love the way almost every part of the story has some tinge of dark irony that weaves all the characters together.
I also love the new characters introduced in this book, especially grace, who is a great neurodivergent character. As the story goes on you see how almost everyone underestimates her, yet she is one of the smartest people in the room. Thought the whole idea of her having been chipped seems to me more like plot convenience but I will let that one slide.
Yet again loved it and looking forward to reading the next and last one
3.75 stars!!!!!!!!
not my favorite in the series (unwind is still my favorite) but i liked it a lot better than unwholly!
How was unwinding started? What deeper secrets are there behind the founder of this process and why are all references to him....gone?
Connor & Lev are putting things together and vow to find the truth behind the unwinding process, and find a way to stop it. Risa has escaped and is just trying to stay alive until she can be reunited with Connor.
Meanwhile, Starkey is inviting war with all the chaos he and the Stork Brigade are causing. Camus is still struggling with who he is and is making his own plans on taking down Proactive Citizenry from the inside.
This is the 3rd book in the series and while slow at some points (understandable with the research and ground setting scenarios being introduced) it is definitely keeping my attention. I am wholly invested to finish this one out.
