I'm not sure how I felt about this book. The writing was decent and the story had its moments but I wasn't a huge fan of the characters. Olivia is a Manhattan socialite who runs away from her life for selfish reasons and takes a job as caregiver for a disabled war vet. Paul was injured in the war and also suffers from PTSD/general assholeishness. Some of the things he said and did to Olivia were unforgivable in my opinion so it made it hard to find anything to like about him. I was satisfied by the way they both seemed to grow by the end though so overall I'll go with 3 stars.
The Redemption Series... what is there to say? I became so involved right from the start. This book is amazing! Karen Kingsbury's stories are so heartfelt and uplifting. They are great Christian fiction that is not in your face and can still hang with all the popular chick lit authors, especially the Redemption Series and other series about the Baxter family. I still wish I was a Baxter.
