It is a 4 volume compilation of the biographies, both male & female, of first generation French Canadians.The books are written in French in alphabetical order. Volume 1 A - C, Volume 2 D- I, Volume 3 J - M, Volume 4 N - Z. It is extremely well sourced and researched. There are pages of signatures included of some of the pioneers in the book. If your ancestor came to New France after 1700 he or she will not be included in these volumes.
