I was hoping for a lot more from this book. The entire plot just seemed so juvenile. That's it.
The characters are unbelieveable, and the grand finale is ridiculous - the whole town coming together to celebrate the relationship of two people that nobody seems to like? And I have no idea what the point of keeping Alexander's true, vampire nature a mystery until the finale of the book could possibly be - I don't think anybody is going into reading this book thinking it is about anything but a girl and her vampire.
Regardless of how much I did not enjoy reading this book, I will be reading the sequel, [book:Kissing Coffins] because the author has chosen to do something interesting with this series. The books have a companion graphic novel series, beginning with Vampire Kisses: Blood Relatives (which unfortunately has been incorrectly tagged on Goodreads). I'm very curious to see how the story and characters are translated into a more visual format.
