This is indeed “freshman orientation” to life as a writer. It is both an inspiring and practical read for newbie writers who are still working on giving themselves permission to call themselves writers. I love how candid Paulette Perhach is with everything from her own struggles to her organizational strategies. As a result, she helps with both the outer and inner chaos of writers' lives. Her tone is encouraging and indeed welcoming, helping us to feel less alone.
