What Was Meant to Be

QB Tyler is still a newer author to me, but everytime I read a book from her I adore it. Taboo is a genre that can either be done really well - or not well at all. And this one was great! The bond that JP and Whitney share is amazing, and the trust in the relationship led to some spicy scenes (including pegging)!

Whitney's relationship with her family is something I really loved in this story, as well as JPs relationship with them. They were always this really close knit group and I loved the interactions between them.

I loved this second chance romance! It gave me all the feels

time and time again, i tell myself to not go for these tiktoks that basically mislead me about such books. all i knew about this book was that it has age gap. I didnt bother reading the synopsis. so believe me when i was baffled upon reading that he was her godfather?! and not only that but they got together when she was 18?! I get that this was supposed to be a taboo romance but this relationship would still have been taboo if she was 23. and the cheating trope above all of that. the worst book ever

other than this, the writing was really bad. I had to recheck rhe author's profile that her first language is English because it felt a lot more like something i - whose english is not the first language - wrote at the age of 14 on wattpad.

The story was also good - between JP and Whitney. He is her god father and dad's best friend. They secretly hooked up for 2 years once she was 18, then he broke up with her for 3, came back, and they reunited with their second chance.
