This book was ok but it's too much like the Stephanie Plum books for me.
The main character is somewhat cringe worthy but nothing I couldn't forgive. It's Nick who ruined the whole thing. Their scenes completely lacked chemistry and he was not only cringe but, at the risk of sounding overly woke, he was creepy and bordered on the rapist brand of creepy a lot. Seriously their “sex” scenes almost made me sick everything about him was icky. I'm serious if SA/SA adjacent content is a trigger for you do not read this book.
Secondary characters were a lot more interesting than the main character and by the end I was disappointed I didn't get to spend more time with Rose Marie and Addison's mother.
At this point in time I can't finish this. I just can't get into it. I had enjoyed the author's Dirty Little Secret but not enjoying this one. Maybe one day I might finish it, don't know. Marking it as completed to get it out of my reading list.
