More like 3 and a half. I keep trying to read thrillers because it's what everyone is reading right now. I mean, I get it. They are easy reads. The pages turn quickly. But, for me, the problems start to seep in and the eye rolling begins. This would make a decent beach read for most readers. I am just a pain in the ass.
A head's up: this one is not for your feminist heart. Natalie is pretty useless as a person and, from the get-go, we realize she is letting Doug make all the decisions. She cries a lot.
I had a big problem with the fact that the villain seemed to have ESP (answering other character's inner-dialog questions without being prompted) and the niece..... so very annoying.
As a side note, I didn't realize until after I finished that the branch in the river on the cover was also a wedding dress. I'm not sure what that is trying to say about marriage. I don't care enough to speculate.
