DNF pg 56. I was enjoying it until the main character started talking Star Wars/Marvel/musical pop culture references. Just not into it
This was so cute and the perfect October read! It was funny, steamy but felt cosy at the same time. Definitely perfect for this time of year if you don't want a high drama/angsty book. Will definitely be continuing.
Ok so I LOVE this world that Juliette Cross is building. I am also a sucker for books based in New Orleans. Mateo and Evie were also super cute and geeky. It was a lovely read.

I really did enjoy this book a lot especially because you could feel the chemistry between the two love interests. I loved the writing and the world was amazing. I love how all different creatures were incorporated into the world. I personally just didn't really connect with Evie weirdly and something about her just didn't sit right with me. She's not a bad character by any means, I just personally didn't really like her. While this is a romance, I also felt like this had heavy cozy mystery vibes which I normally like but they tend to be very formulaic which didn't help this book.
Loved this book! It hit all of the right spots for me. Great build up, great romance, great heat. Loved the wolf to man conversations. It was a little bit slow in some parts but overall a great read!
Guys, I wish I had a better review for y'all! This book took me a week to get through. Partly my fault because life, but also part the book's fault. I had some hope for this book: set in New Orleans and witchy, but it just didn't do it for me. The writing style, for me, was far too casual (if that makes sense). The inner voice of the wolf reminded me of Sméagol from LoTR talking to himself and it was just kind of disturbing at times. The euphemisms for sexual acts and body parts was so incredibly cringy. The flirting and forwardness on the part of the male MC were uncomfy to read. Over all I obviously didn't like the book and probably won't read the others in the series, which I think follow the stories of Evie's sisters. 18+ for language and sexual content.
Honestly? I'm just glad to say I finished and can move on to something else.
This is so well written and so good, but it doesn't really get moving till 200 pages in. Loved the characters and the story had me guessing right up til the end. Great heat between the lead couple and I can't wait to see where Jules and Ruben's story ends up (in several books). This was my first ever full length romance novel and it was a good one.
Predictable, anticlimactic, kinda funny, and yes I'm going to read the rest of the series becuase I'm hooked. Idk
2⭐️ unfortunately
I read this so excruciatingly slow, it was almost painful. It didn't really keep my attention and I almost dnfed it about 20 times.
The story had potential but it was underwhelming. I think my main problem with this was the focus completely being on the romance which was also very mediocre. Nothing exciting happened and the whole plot about his trapped wolf was written in the literal last 2 chapters.
