This was a researched purchase when I was trying to acquire multicultural fairy tales a few years ago. I believe we read it then, but today I read it after reading Lon Po Po and being influenced to read more books illustrated by Ed Young. We read Lon Po Po, today under the influence of Beautiful Feet Books Around the World with Picture Books Volume 1. Following up with Yeh-Shen was fun and timely in our China study and I plan to go read Wabi Sabi next. I pulled it from our shelf when I saw that it, too is illustrated by Ed Young. That will be a great introduction to our Japan study.[bc:Lon Po Po: A Red-Riding Hood Story from China 1918702 Lon Po Po A Red-Riding Hood Story from China Ed Young https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1265127897l/1918702.SX50.jpg 339327][bc:Yeh-Shen: A Cinderella Story from China 1366662 Yeh-Shen A Cinderella Story from China Ai-Ling Louie https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1348333271l/1366662.SX50.jpg 1356489][bc:Wabi Sabi 1464412 Wabi Sabi Mark Reibstein https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1344264158l/1464412.SX50.jpg 1455310]
