Yes, Chef

3.5 stars!!!

I'm not much of a romance reader, but I am a chef in real life so I felt like I needed to give this a try. This book was so easy to read and I felt like I was flying through it, which is abnormal for me when I read a book with my eyes without an audiobook. I was very torn with what to rate this because I was having so much fun until the last portion of the book. It would be a spoiler to go into detail as to what bothered me enough to lower the rating but the ending just felt rushed to me. I tend to find most romance books to be in the middle ground for me, but this book was an exception. I liked the slow burn, I liked the grumpy sunshine it was for majority of the book, and I liked the characters together. The characters did feel a bit flat for me but I can forgive it for a debut novel. Overall, I had a very fun time reading this and was giggling when cute things where happening between the two main characters, but by the last 80% I was groaning over their decisions and waiting for it all to be over.

This book was so enjoyable!! Extremely impressed for a debut authour. The flow of the story was great, where everything was described well without it being tedious.

A workplace romance, between 2 chefs working in a restaurant in Paris. Claire came to Paris to find herself. escape family expectations, and have a bit of a fresh start. She has sworn off love, but that becomes tricky when her new head chef James gives her all the butterflies. (James is a wonderful book boyfriend)

This was a really refreshing romance read. I couldn't put it down, and I didn't want to. I wanted more of this story, but the ending was perfect, that adding anymore would just ruin it.

Closed door romance, no TAB, workplace romance, with a light amount of angst.

I freakin' LOVED this book. I devoured it. I read this so fast it's not even funny.

I really liked the fmc. I didn't find her annoying, which is always a plus, and I like that she was confident in herself and her abilities as a chef.

I FREAKING LOVED the mmc, James.
“Is he trying to make me fall in love with him? Because he's one more crepe and book adventure away from it, and he doesn't even know it.”

I'll be honest, I still don't understand why he didn't like her initially, BUT their banter was fun; seeing them slowly start to trust and like each other (as friends) was super enjoyable. I loved seeing all the tiny gestures he would do for her.

“So, you want to keep me?” “Are you kidding? I've wanted nothing more. I want you so badly I'd eat the terrible cruise food for the rest of my life if it meant you'd be sitting next to me.”

Both of them together were actually so cute. like I loved their relationship and that it wasn't insta-love.
AND here's the best part (I could totally be wrong, or it wasn't big enough to notice), BUT THERE WAS NO THIRD ACT BREAK-UP? As far as I remember, there wasn't one, and I LOVED that.
Even the cooking parts of this book were super fun to just read about.

I really, really enjoyed this book; I definitely think you should read this.
