Started reading this to help a 7th grader with homework and got sucked it. Taylor paints an amazing picture of one family's year post reconstruction. I thorough enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down.

Fast read, interesting enough to keep reading but would not read again. Predictable resolution and left feeling meh I could take it or leave it

Surprisingly good. I was skeptical at first because it's a story about “Eskimos” written by a white woman over 40 years ago. However, it was a well composed story that I would read again.

I have read this book 3 times since January. Making a grand total of 5 times! Needless to say, I love this book!

One of the best books I've ever read. I was tempted to start it all over again the second I finished.
