This was actually a very good read, for a textbook. Information presented in a concise and easily absorbed manner. Great pictures throughout!
This would have been 5 stars, if I had reviewed it at the halfway point. The plot seems to change about halfway through and lost me for a bit, but because I had already read and enjoyed much of it, I stuck it out. The ending seems rushed/abrupt and while it tied up it does allow for a sequel should the author wish to continue as a series.
This was recommended to me because of my love of the Harry Potter series. Fablehaven had a good premise but was definitely geered towards a much younger crowd. It would be a great read for middle to late elementary age kids. The writing was very simple and straightforward with lots of back and forth dialogue. Not for me.
One of the best books I've ever read. I was tempted to start it all over again the second I finished.
Surprisingly good. I was skeptical at first because it's a story about “Eskimos” written by a white woman over 40 years ago. However, it was a well composed story that I would read again.
Reads like a novel, I couldn't put it down. Obvious trigger warning for eating disorders. I have no history with e.d. and this book still stressed me out. I often found myself clenching my fists and shaking my head at the adults (especially the moms). Highly recommend for people who want more insight into e.d. and how to not support someone struggling with it.
I have read this book 3 times since January. Making a grand total of 5 times! Needless to say, I love this book!
Started reading this to help a 7th grader with homework and got sucked it. Taylor paints an amazing picture of one family's year post reconstruction. I thorough enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down.
Even as a huge HP fan, I have to say this was pretty awful. Could have made for a decent story, if the dialogue wasn't so cringeworthy. Luckily, it's a screenplay. So it's a quick read.
The Fuck Up is a very easy and enjoyable read. If your looking for something that can be finished in one sitting, this is it. The story is not overly exciting but it does keep you reading.
Fast read, interesting enough to keep reading but would not read again. Predictable resolution and left feeling meh I could take it or leave it
Captivating read. An interesting view of humanity and its relations with the world (takers vs leavers). I can see where some would find this book pretentious in its “enlightenment”, but I found its content unsurprising. Possibly because of its alignments with my personal philosophies.
Not quite as “fascinating” as I had hoped but not bad either. Like reading a clickbait listicle without the bothersome ads. If you love reddit thread compilations but hate ads, you'll love this book
Came into this book not knowing at all what to expect. Definitely took me a bit to get into the book, but by the end I couldn't put it down and didn't want it to end.
