Really like the lead character. Too bad this is the last in series — I binged all 3 in less than a week.
What a cute book! Seeing things from Aidan's perspective was eye-opening, feeling forced into a certain role based on gender bias. Though I'm not trans, I do understand what it's like to be a tomboy who some relatives refused to accept. They kept buying me frilly dresses and I kept refusing to wear them. I heard plenty of “girls don't do XYZ! That's for boys!”
It's disgusting that this book is being banned anywhere.
Less sinister than Thinner
Reminded me immediately of King's book “Thinner”, but this was much more upbeat and fantastical. Still kinda “meh” overall though
Despite Stupid Karens trying to ban this book, I think it's a great story for children, as well as narrow-minded adults. It's a-dorkable
Wow this drew me in immediately and kept my attention throughout. Good balance of thriller and romance. This is my first book by this author and I'm looking forward to reading lots more.
I was hooked within 1 chapter! Such an interesting story, with a touch of fantasy. I was totally invested in the lead character very quickly. Loved loved loved it! This was my first book by this author but I will quickly seek out all the rest of hers
Loved it, highlighted the heck out of it. Very interesting and engaging. I hope what he has described, using her words, is really true.
This definitely was dark. I felt anxious reading it and sometimes melancholy or just plain sad. The writing was okay-ish but I hated how I felt while reading it. I only finished it because I'm stubborn. No thank you I will not be reading more from this author.
Very enjoyable, interesting to hear how she got to Parks n Rec and what came after. I chose the audio book version because it's read by the author herself. It would not have been anywhere near as enjoyable for me in print.
By the middle of the book, I was drawn in so completely that I barely moved until I finished it. I feel so emotionally exhausted that I'll have to do something mindless to clear my head. I never saw the final twist coming, never even suspected.
Twists and twists and twists. Loved the characters. So all-consuming that I finished it in a day.
Not bad overall, but POint of View jumped around between husband and wife, past and present, which made things a bit confusing.
This was the first book I've read from this author. It was great, interesting characters, fun twists upon twists!
Wow...just, wow. It drew me in immediately, I stayed up waaaay too late reading and finished it less than 24h later. It's been years since I've found a book that compelling. Definitely recommend it if you like the suspense genre.
I could see the ending coming but it was still fun to watch it unfold. Definitely kept me intrigued throughout.
It drew me in immediately and I finished it in a day, having a hard time taking a break. Learning the reasons for various things in Clara's world, one bit at a time, as Nick's character describes his last few months was a little frustrating (constant time shifting) but wholly worth it.
Definitely interesting story, but many other books pulled my attention away until I finally made myself finish it. I struggle with reading this “graphic novel” format and I think I would have read this much faster in a traditional book format
Truly disturbing. So many danger signs of escalation and no one did a damn thing over the years.
Fantastic! Really held my interest; stayed up too late on multiple occassions to read “just one more page”. Interesting characters and twisting plot.
Wow! WoW! WOW! what an ending. I was happy enough through out the book, but the ending just floored me
Loved this and read it in just 2 multi-hour sessions. Interesting twists and intriguing plot
So slow to develop that I gave up in the first hundred pages. I find it quite hard to believe this is the same author who wrote Big Little Lies. Or HBO did a stellar job with turning that novel into tv series. I guess my hopes were too high based solely on how much I loved that show so I wanted to try a different book by the author
