Idk it just wasn't hitting...
I'm not feeling a detective story rn
And I was having a hard time with the translation.
LOVED!
Very fun twist!
Just a very fun time.
Only thing that kept me from 5 stars was the last sentence. It's confusing, and I think it unnecessarily makes me question whether I understand the character right at the very end.
But that's small potatoes. Great read!
A fun time, but the commentary on True Crime culture was half-baked. It felt like she thought she was really saying something, but I couldn't exactly tell what it was. I really disliked the mom character. But overall, fun!
In a very similar kind of vibe to Hannah's point in Nanette, I just don't have space for queer autistic trauma right now.
Really love the story, but it was super slow. Genuinely spooky, very very good read!
I really enjoyed this book
I thought it was better than The Mark of Athena
I thought there was a lot of character development in most of the characters
The other really great thing is how he remains so consistent with the original series but at the same time explores new plot lines
And also... Nico di Angelo!!!!!
Only reason I didn't do 5 stars is because it's an adaptation, which made me a little anxious that I was missing things/not getting the whole story... even though that's not really rational!
This book is so wonderful. Williams does an amazing job of developing the world of Osten Ard so fantastically. Amazing
I didn't dislike this book at all! I just feel like there are so many books to read and this one isn't really keeping me gripped.
I liked it but I think it had the potential to be a lot spookier. The flashbacks to the characters' secrets and sad backstories takes away from the potential spookiness. I thought the thing with Tamsen being in love with her brother was super weird and unnecessary
I was just reminded of this book last night. I definitely read it in one sitting on a plane at some point and I don't remember the details but I definitely remember I had a fun time with it!
Tragic and beautiful all at once
A book you can't stop thinking about after you read it
got seven pages in and couldn't go on. seemed predictable; just like any other teen fiction novel of the like
