I'm not usually a reader of GLBT type of stories. This one I read for a challenge and was very pleasantly surprised. It has actually very little sex but has a really nice romance in it. I found myself really enjoying it and looking forward to finding out how they were to get together.
I was a bit put off in the beginning of the story. Griffin seemed like such a jerk. But it did get better. These books are a bit more erotica than story so I tend to skim it a bit to get to the story. It did get interesting in the last few chapters. I like that he didn't change her right off when she asked. He let her have a life and waited until she was really ready.
This book has really nice hats, scarves, cowls, and socks. They are mostly all colorwork but there are a few solid color options as well. There are these beautiful Celtic socks I really want to make. The patterns are based on patterns from all over the world. Norway, Scotland, Estonia, Peru etc.
The patterns are well written and have full color pictures and both black and white and color charts. The book is not for a novice knitter but they are great for the person who is looking for a little adventure in their knitting.
I really enjoyed this book so much. Walker is a successful stockbroker and an ex-high school football player. He goes into the woods to camp on a bet but he winds up going on a different adventure altogether. He gets abducted and wind up introduced to many other alien species which he needs to learn how to get along with if he's to escape.
This book never disappointed me. I loved the ride and will look for more of this author's books.
I totally loved this book about amigurumi the creatures are not all too complicated, and it would make a great start in learning this skill. The book is divided into two parts. Part one explains what you need to start making these projects and part two are the patterns. There are full color pictures throughout the book. The creatures are so cute and the instructions are well laid out. You should already have a working knowledge of the basics of crochet before you start. But you do not have to be an expert. There is a glossary in the back of the book to help you as well. The hard part trying to figure which one I want to make first.
Joe Warren is an unemployed electrical technician with a very ill girlfriend. The world has been changed when the government found a way to use nanobots to reanimate the dead to do everyday jobs. There is high unemployment and unrest because of this. Joe gets arrested with a group of Freedom Fighters while trying to get medical help for his girlfriend.
He is coerced by government agents to infiltrate the Children of Liberty to save his girlfriend. But he finds that he has found something he never had before in this group.
This had a bit of a slow start (mainly I just didn't like the characters too much) but the last third was explosive and I couldn't put it down.
This was a prequel to a prior book I read. It was actually very helpful in filling in some of the blanks on incidents that happened prior to the 1st book in the series. It is not a mandatory read but helpful.
I was given this book free for an honest review. This is a short story that is very complete. I actually would love it to be expanded a bit. The story starts with Sabella as a child who is a government project and can shape shift into a domestic cat. She grows up and becomes a college teacher and finds love and romance with the daughter of her handler from the program. The story is very well written and believable. In this book they included 20 other short stories as well. Not all are f-f but they are enjoyable as well.
Even if you don't own an ice cream machine you can make ice cream. You can make all sorts of different and yes weird combinations from this book. I found the instructions very concise and easy to follow. I even made my own better chocolate chunks and sprinkles to add to my ice cream. I really want to try the Marzipan Semifreddo next. There are full color pictures of the different types of ice cream in the book.
This was a series of short stories involving paranormal and science fiction writers. There are some big names in the set like Neil Gaiman, Elizabeth Bear, Jim Butcher and Simon Green. Unfortunately they are not all their best efforts. I really disliked Neil Gaiman's “Goldfish Pond and Other Stories”. I loved Jim Butcher's “Last Call”. Delia Sherman's “Socks” was by far the best story. It was so different from all the other short stories. Another of my favorites was “Painted Birds and Shivered Bones” by Kat Howard. “The Spirit of the Thing” by Simon Green was really good as well.
So in short there is a bit of something for everyone. Do not discount the newer authors but I found some of their stories to be the best.

Synopsis: Alexis Stone's family is moving far away from her current home. She is 16 and unhappy about it. Her best friend Natalie is helping her and they stop to play an old console game that they loved called Dreamscape. It is all pretend right? Alex gets pulled into the game and now has to become the Golden Hero and has to save the Queen. But it is not all fun and games anymore it is real. You can get hurt and it is hard to know who to trust. She allies herself with Arrow who helps her learn about Lockhorn and the dangers that lurk around every corner.
My View: Alex starts out in the story to be a bit of a brat. She learns a lot about the “real world” and what really is important. She grows quite a bit in the story to a character you are rooting for.
This book is a safe book for younger readers as it has no sexual content. Some kissing but that's about it.

In the world the book is set in Magic has been deemed dangerous and illegal.
Carmen is a low level witch (or so she believes). Her friend Ellie and her grandmother Louise are mortals and are in trouble. They are being devoured by a soul-sucking spell. Carmen is trying to find a way to cure them without getting in trouble. In walks Dylan who works for the MBH (Magic Buster Hunters). He has been sent to investigate a stash of magic items being held in the Library basement. He knows something is up with Carmen but cannot quite put his finger on it. But she does looks really good in that skirt. He fights is attraction to Carmen and Carmen uses it to gain access to the magic items in the basement. If Carmen doesn't fix this spell it can spread and affect others and destroy the world if only she could fight her attraction to Dylan.
The title is a bit off putting and really does not tell you much of what the book is about. The book was a bit of a slow build but by the middle I enjoyed it and wanted to find out what would happen.
I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.
The comic is well drawn and the story was interesting.
The classic Ghostbusters run into a new group calling themselves the Ghostsmashers. They eliminate the ghosts by dispersing them not trapping them. Only that just winds up making things worse which the Ghostbusters have to step in and try to clean up the mess they made.
I really loved this book. It is a very different take on time travel. I am looking forward to the next book.

This is a very comprehensive book on using a smoker for cooking. Melissa Cookston gives great instruction on all the different ways to use a smoker, expensive and inexpensive. Then she goes on to give a lot of recipes for Rubs and sauces. Then gives recipes and tips on cooking chicken, pork, beef and seafood using these as a basis for them. I've marked a number of them to try myself. I don't use a smoker but I can use the recipes as a great basis for using a slow cooker or oven. There are recipes for sides and desserts as well.

This book is a beginner's guide to knitting. As someone who is new to knitting I didn't find it particularly helpful. The only method shown is English style and I was taught Continental style. I feel both styles should have been covered. The pictures were not very clear as to what to do when increasing and decreasing. I did like how the different stiches were explained like Moss and seed stitches although I don't think it would have been in a beginner book. I did like how the knit and purl stitches were described and how to fix dropped stiches for both.
There are a number of small projects like small purses, bracelets included. It seemed that these were explained a bit more than the how to part of the book.
This was a cute story about a boy who wants to be a dinosaur but then finds out being a little boy is good too, so good the dinosaur now wants to be a little boy. The illustrations were very nice and the pacing was really good for a young child. Giving them time to come up with their own answers to the questions about the pictures.
This is a picture book with fairly simple illustrations. Features a girl and her dog in solving various problems sometimes with funny outcomes. Very adorable and easy to follow.

Tracy Conner loves living in NYC and watchin old movies and works as a producer at a small television channel WETV. She is married to Mike Conner who is Mayor of Cukor Connecticut a small town.
On impulse she rents a small apartment in the city to be closer to her job and things things through about her and her husband's relationship. Neither one wants to give in to the other.
In walks a strange lady Christina Drayton and hits her with her bike knocking Tracy down giving her a bit of a conclusion. Then there is the handsome neighbor Phillip Adams who is sweeping her off her feet even though she's trying to work things out with her husband.
The story runs fairly smoothly and I had a hard time putting it down. The only complaint I have is there are misspellings and missing words. But it is an uncorrected proof. (I hope).

This was an excellent starter book for someone who already has drawing talent. I showed it to my niece and she really loved it. She was able to draw a pretty good wicked witch from the illustrations shown in a very short time. Me however not as well done.
You can learn to draw all sorts of mythical creatures from this instruction book. Mermaids, centaurs and such.
This is an excellent book on borders. I can't wait to use them on the blanket I am currently making.
Edie Eckman shows you how to do simple and very complex border patterns and how to incorporate them into your item. She teaches you the mechanics of doing a border. How to customized them for your project and how to make them stand out. How to widen a border or narrow a border. This has full color pictures and detailed designs. There is even a wonderful index in back with pictures of all the different borders.
