Good, solid book. I liked the characters and I’m glad they weren’t one dimensional, all kinds of gray! This was a new author to me after picking this book from Amazon’s First Reads. I’m definitely a fan and will be reading more!

I almost didn’t finish this book. The bones of the book are good, meaning the premise of the story is a good one which is why I picked up in the first place but other than that it was a complete dud. There was no meat on those bones! Didn’t care about the characters, they seemed to just get together willy nilly. No invested interested in any of them. And the writing just wasn’t good.

Good ending to this arc in the series.

I’m curious about the world that these characters live in. The first book is more about the characters and less about the World. Reading other’s reviews, their questions are legit. I just see the characters taking precedence in this first book with many questions remaining about the World they inhabit.

I don’t want to say anything about this book except read the book blind. Don’t read any reviews just read it. It’s much better that way!

This book was a slow burner, started slow and it was a bit difficult to get into it but then it picks up and gets better. The author reveals the story through two characters telling their story from different times and their perspectives. It took me a while to appreciate that type of storytelling but I did come to think it was a nice unique way to do it. There is a lot of things going on and so I did get lost in who was who at times. The magic systems allows for people to be reborn and switch bodies which leads to some difficulties keeping up with who is who and who is relative to who.

Not my cup of tea, I’m way outside my usual genres and I’m surprised I finished it. It was beautifully written I just found myself not interested.

Cute with a unique character that adds character to the book. No surprises as you can see where it is going very quickly.
