This was an okay book. Not really sure what I was expecting when reading the synopsis, but this was unexpected. Not sure if I would read the sequel because I wasn't invested in the characters.
I started reading this book back in November and stopped after about 2 weeks. I had trouble getting into the story. I will probably try reading it again over the summer. It is an interesting take on zombie stories and I have heard good reviews about the book.
I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read the second. I could not put it down and I could not wait to see how it ended.
Really a 3.5 out of 5. Not my favorite book by Dan Brown, seemed to drag at times but it did give me a lot to think about.
The synopsis of this book made it sound very interesting, but I was disappointed with the plot. The characters were not very likable and I had a difficult time reading it for long periods of time.
A fantastic follow up to The Hate You Give! Parts of this book had me in tears. I loved the growth of Bri throughout the book. I can't wait to recommend this to my friends and students.
Monday's Not Coming is a book that had me curious and intrigued the whole time I was reading it. Due to that intrigue and wanting to know what happened next, I read this in about 6 hours (it probably helped that I started reading it at 4:30 AM due to some insomnia). The only thing that bothered me about the book was the timeline-it jumped from Before to After to One Year Before The Before and it was hard to keep everything straight as I was reading. The characters were well developed. Overall, I enjoyed the book and will probably go back and re-read to see what I missed from reading it so fast the first time.
This book left me breathless. The descriptions of the wilderness and the struggle the main character endured were beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. I was in tears and one point and 5 pages later ready to throw my phone across the room I was so mad. I can see why this book is highly recommended-the writing stays with you for a long time. I'll be thinking and turning this book over for a while.
I have no words after listening to this book-it has left me shattered. This is a story that is going to stay with me for a long time. The plot was intriguing and gripping-I found myself wanting to stay in my car just to listen a little bit longer. I highly recommend listening to the book-it switches back and forth between a podcast and the main character telling her part. It was a brilliant way to tell Sadie's story.
Really 3.5 stars. I liked this book at the beginning, but it slowed down in the middle and I would lose interest very quickly. Interesting book, waiting to see how the movie is.
The material was interesting, however I felt that the telling of the story was disjointed and skipped around too much.
I always love a Sigma Force novel. I got a little bogged down by the science in this one and felt it moved a little slower than other Sigma Force novels, but I still enjoyed it!
Very gripping book full of twists and turns. Enjoyed it very much.
Edited-giving it 3.5 stars. I just finished the authors second book which I found much more thrilling and gripping. Still enjoyed this one.
Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus is a quick fun read. It made me laugh, it made me tear up, it made me think. I loved Aven, Conner and Zion. I can't wait to read the next book to share in more adventures with them.
3.5 stars. The premise was interesting, the first third of the book moved slowly. I became invested during the middle section.
This was funny and heartwarming. All of the characters are well developed and make you fall in love with them. I was invested and devoured the book in a day.
Excellent world building and character development. The tension between the main characters is wonderful. Could not put down and can't wait until the second comes out.
A wonderful retelling of Pinocchio. I loved all of the characters-even the secondary ones. I chuckled at times and became anxious for the characters at times.!
3.5 stars.Listened to it and found my mind wandering at times. Love the series but felt like this one dragged a little bit.
I am loving this series! The intertwined historical and modern day stories are well balanced. I've enjoyed researching the historical figures written about in the books. The mystery of Pa Salt keeps me coming back for more, I'm dying to know who he really is.
I listened to this book and was crying by the end. Beautifully written and some wonderful Easter Eggs.
I love Marissa Meyer's world building and character development but man this book dragged at times.
