Absolutely worth the read. The author leads a common thread that keeps us connected even though he tells the story of different people in time. It's daunting to realize how much we have evolved. If this doesn't give you faith in the human race, then not much will!
From Spinoza to Anne Frank a lot of details that lift the veil on why the Dutch are a fantastic society and Amsterdam the pinnacle of it.
Great content. The first 30% I did no like so much but from then on it is full of pearls that sometimes seem obvious but somehow you never thought about them... Meritocracy & radical transparency FTW!
