Okay, yeah, Team Cyrus all the way. I'm really starting to dislike Kamran.
I wish I waited to read this series when it was done. The past 2 books are too much in the middle to feel good leaving off here and waiting for more.
Meh. I don't understand why the show made so many changes but couldn't change the rape-y part in season 1. This book was okay. Wanted to stop, but figured I'd finish reading it because I like the show and I especially like these two characters together. Oddly liked the book plot better than the love triangle in the show. I'm not gonna continue the series though, I just can't.
Slow build up. I have a lot of questions, which I assume will be answered by later books, so I'll stay patient.
At first, I was skeptical because for some reason I've seen A LOT of bad reviews on social media about this book... But I actually enjoyed it a lot and got hooked. Especially after reading Nightbane, I reread all of Lightlark again lol I think it's because I LOVE stories that have a completely different meaning after finding certain details / plot twists out. Kinda like the movie Arrival is a new story when you watch it a second time because of what you now know from watching the ending. What you thought was happening is actually completely different. Lightlark has a plot twist at the end, but Nightbane has an even bigger plot twist that impacts how I viewed certain characters and relationships in Lightlark. I love it.
It's really hard to understand what's going on sometimes. It feels like details are left out or time jumps happen or I miss something. I like the characters and the plot though.
I did not like this book, but I couldn't stop reading because I loved the show. Really disappointed with how rape-y it is in the end though.
Interesting concept, but the plot is so obvious and the MC is making really stupid choices for no reason.
Really good read. I borrowed it from the library, but I'm going to buy it now to have more time to do the exercises.
