It's like a Rizzoli & Isles fan fiction. It's pretty good and light. It's very fast paced. Light reading for a short commute.
Life Upside DownThis was sent to me for review by the author. I was skeptical about it as if it couldn't be that good of a story. I can honestly say that it's a good story and a very quick read.Let's get the negative out of the way first and that is the pacing and the lack of content. I wish that the story was longer. I also wish that it wasn't as rushed as it was. It went from existential crisis, to girl crush, to first same-sex kiss, glossed over first time, to marriage, pregnancy and end. So much detail was lost in between, but I sort of understand where the author is coming from. Next:I enjoy the switch from character to character. Alternating between Erin and Rose. Getting both perspectives . There isn't any wondering as to what the other might be thinking as you can read it for your self. I wish that the author had kept with that aspect throughout this novella. This is a simple love story, that most of us think about, wonder about and/or have lost the chance at trying because we were too wrapped up in failing. It's not just quick love story. It's one about being patient and being open as you may never know what could happen when you let yourself dream and live. That while you are waiting for Prince Charming, life and your heart has someone else in mind. Love comes in different shapes and forms and once people acknowledge that, everything in relations to love will work itself out.I was invested into Erin and Rose's story from the get go. If this is an indication of this author's next stories and what she/they may have in store, I can't wait. Hopefully this turns into a series that goes more in depth. This is 3.5 out 5 for me. The beginning was a bit of a mess. I couldn't keep track of which character was speaking. It was all jumbled. Pushing through to see if it gets any better. It didn't, it's all over place and never really kept my attention. This wasn't the story that I'd hope for it to be.
It was a sweet story. Not too much drama. I know someone who went through a similar situation as Marley but unlike Marley, she didn't know about another woman let alone a marriage and it ruined that person's reputation.
This book reads like a bad soap opera. There is so much that goes on in this that is very problematic. This is just ridiculous. I wanted this to be a sweet story, but it was filled with so much unbelievable crap. None of the characters maybe with the exception of the child is likable. Every other page, someone is crying or cheating or both. This story went on for too long. The only positive would be the normalization of having sex while pregnant. Thank god, this was part of Kindle Unlimited, because I'd be very upset if I paid even $1 for it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. This felt like a very good Hallmark Holiday story. This would've been a great Holiday film. Likable characters, no big dramas and breakups. Felt more grown up than other stories I've read this year.
Wow. This was bad. I had never read any of Dr. Seuss's writings and decided to started with this famous book. Reading this as an adult, I must say that it was just awful. I'm not sure if it is the writing or the tone. I am glad that I didn't read this as a child, this felt more like a confusing, horrific story than anything else. This story would probably scare me as a child rather than teach me anything. As for the question at the end, there isn't a right answer. If you were to tell your parents what happened, they would assume that you are lying and if you tell them that nothing happened, then you would be lying to yourself.
