Wow. This was bad. I had never read any of Dr. Seuss's writings and decided to started with this famous book. Reading this as an adult, I must say that it was just awful. I'm not sure if it is the writing or the tone. I am glad that I didn't read this as a child, this felt more like a confusing, horrific story than anything else. This story would probably scare me as a child rather than teach me anything. As for the question at the end, there isn't a right answer. If you were to tell your parents what happened, they would assume that you are lying and if you tell them that nothing happened, then you would be lying to yourself.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. This felt like a very good Hallmark Holiday story. This would've been a great Holiday film. Likable characters, no big dramas and breakups. Felt more grown up than other stories I've read this year.
This book reads like a bad soap opera. There is so much that goes on in this that is very problematic. This is just ridiculous. I wanted this to be a sweet story, but it was filled with so much unbelievable crap. None of the characters maybe with the exception of the child is likable. Every other page, someone is crying or cheating or both. This story went on for too long. The only positive would be the normalization of having sex while pregnant. Thank god, this was part of Kindle Unlimited, because I'd be very upset if I paid even $1 for it.
It was a sweet story. Not too much drama. I know someone who went through a similar situation as Marley but unlike Marley, she didn't know about another woman let alone a marriage and it ruined that person's reputation.
