See allI was able to finish this before seeing the movie. At first, with all the dialogue, it took me a little while to warm up to it. But when it hooks you, you're all in! It's such a heartwarming and nostalgic glimpse into young queer love between two Mexican-American kids in the 1980s. It's wonderful to see such a meaningful, diverse perspective on the coming-of-age tale.
I truly enjoyed 'Tell Me How to Be' by Neel Patel. I began reading the book without knowing much about it. It took a few chapters to get into the story, but once the story gained momentum, it was a captivating page-turner with unexpected twists. There's an LGBT subplot that enriches the narrative, delving into secrets, shame, trauma, and lies, pushing a family to their limits in their quest for closure and purpose. Highly recommended.
An engaging and fast-paced read. McCurdy offers an honest glimpse into her life as a child star and her tumultuous relationship with her narcissistic mother, who pressured her into a career she never truly wanted. This book will make you look at every child star with a lot more compassion.
An engaging tale blending friendship, love, loss, and workplace dynamics in the world of game development. It offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at game creation, leading to a satisfying conclusion. I enjoyed reading this, but found the pacing uneven and during the middle of the story, I found myself losing some interest.
My biggest takeaway from reading Matthew Perry's autobiography is gaining a much deeper understanding of addiction. Rest in peace, Matthew Perry.
