The plot and overall tone of this one really felt more like a Goosebumps book than a Fear Street one. Perhaps that was the original intention when the plot was thought up and it just somehow made its way across to Fear Street instead?
It felt like a scary story for young children with a little bit of teen angst thrown in just to get it to hit the target audience which I really wouldn't have minded if the plot itself hadn't been so dull. Really, it's a slow burn and even when it does amp up towards the end it's more than a little unsatisfying.
It's not enough to put me off my love for Fear Street but I would advise to give this one a miss.
