I was enthralled by the first half of the book but by the second half, it dragged on and I was bored. I predicted the series of events after 50% in and when it got to the reveal, it ended up being underwhelming for me. I was not fond of the romance since romance in mystery/thriller/horror books is one of my bookish pet peeves and it's not the book's fault but rather a personal preference. Although, I still appreciate Alender's writing, it didn't do much for me to completely enjoy the story.
Huh. As a biology major, this is both interesting and odd but not mind blowing or anything.
i really want to love this!!! the characters are flat and annoying and the romance is insta-lovey. it all happened so fast, despite the book saying that it all happened in a couple of months, which means there's a lot of telling instead of showing. the stakes aren't that high and the writing didn't help my case either. i'm so disappointed :(
it should've been better if it were even shorter, in my opinion. i didn't really care about the romance and i came for the horror aspect of it but even that didn't really deliver. overall, it's alright, just not my thing.
this is pretty reminiscent of no one rides for free in a way so it's no surprise that i didn't really like it, but i guess this is written a bit better, thus the 2-star rating
I finished reading this yesterday and it still makes me wanna cry whenever I think about it. It's based on a true story and my heart breaks for the real victim that endured all of the pain.
it's cute and cozy but the story gets repetitive and boring. sad that i didn't enjoy this as much as i wanted to :(
this is the very first Kuang book i've read and it will certainly not be the last. i'm truly in awe of her work.
I saw an ad of this on youtube and it peaked my interest so I decided to give it a go. I was not disappointed. The art style is simple and cute but the story is mysterious and creepy. This is still an ongoing series on webtoon thus the 3 stars rating, but I can't wait to see what's to come.
edit: bumping my rating to 4 stars because of the season finale!
